About Sonicstage
We are continuously surrounded by noises, some of which we do not want to hear, and others of which are pleasant. For example, we may hear ambient noises in our homes and all sorts of unwanted sounds out of doors. The hearing system inside our brain helps us hear one or two out of all the noises we perceive by reducing sensitivity when we try to focus on the noises and then we just hear one or two out of all noises we perceive. Filtered noises are accepted as they are usually easy on our ears and because they may seem more preferable to us. I believe that our noise preferences depend largely upon our respective cultural backgrounds, languages, regions, and even personalities. Through simultaneous play of multiple audio clips submitted from worldwide audiences, Soundstage becomes an environment in which one can consciously experience and understand this sonic phenomenon.
