The Sarni Zoobi Exhibition honored the art and design work of Sarni Zoobi, a UNCA alum (2018, Cum Laude) with a BA in New Media and a minor in Anthropology. After graduating, Sarni worked in Asheville as a graphic designer and printer. They also edited videos and created illustrations, some of which were featured in this exhibition.

 

Sarni Zoobi passed away on September 27, 2024, during Hurricane Helene.

 

At the exhibition opening on Saturday, September 27, 2025, the New Media Department dedicated and named their gallery in Sarni’s honor: The Sarni Zoobi New Media Gallery.
